As I've posted on here before saying that Billy Williams lives not far from me at all (15-20 mins), and is a customer at the car dealer I work at. A while back I won an auction on ebay for a 62 Topps Billy Williams RC, and had one of the managers at work hold it there just in case he saw him to ask for an autograph on it.
Well, today Billy Williams was there getting his car serviced. The manager who was holding onto the card had someone go and ask if he would be willing to sign it. Answer was yes, and the manager came and found me to tell me he was there. I jumped up and went out to meet him, as the other guy was running around getting a sharpie and to have him sign the card. After a few minutes when everyone had gone on their own business and left him alone, I approached him. I said "I'm sorry to bother you again, but I just want to say thank you very much for this, you just made my day". He looks back up at me with a smile on his face and says "you're very welcome". We shook hands, and I left him alone.
So here I am, a 23yr old Cubs fan, getting an autograph from one of the most famous Cubbies of all time, on a card that is 20 years older than me. That had to make his day too.
The way my luck has been lately, and to finally have something go my way, maybe the same will happen for the Cubs too

Congrats on the auto. Must be pretty cool to have Billy Williams live right down the road from you. I'd hold onto that autograph of his. Thanks, Collector

I'm definitely keeping it. I grew up watching the Cubs play all summer long every summer, so to have this geat player sign his rookie card (which is 20 years older than me) for me, and to be so nice/kind about it, is a dream come true. Now if I could only get this same fortune with Ryne Sandberg, my life would be darn near complete.
Actually, it's always been a dream of mine to wear that Cubs uniform and play at Wrigley, doubt it'll ever happen, but its always possible. Someone at work was telling me yesterday that Billy is looking for guys who can hit. Maybe I'l get a hold of him and tell him to watch me at the cages

If you have enough faith in yourself, you can do anything you want. I was once interested in playing baseball, but never went through with it. I use to sit out everyday and practice hitting the ball. It use to be a dream for me to one day become a professional baseball player, but I soon lost interest. Today, I'll still ocassionally go out in my free time and play some ball, though. Thanks, Collector

Thanks, Collector Always been a dream of mine to be a ball player. More so, to play with Mark Grace, Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, and Greg Maddux (loved the early-mid 90s Cubs team). Little too late for that now though. Even at 23 (be 24 in a month) it's still possible for me to make it I guess. One of these days I'll have to get off my butt and start practicing again. Marinersfan, thanks for the reply. Feels really cool to get that card signed
