I was curious as to the volume that is put out and what the market is like? I have collected the YGs for this year and it shocks me the values they are asking for these. No doubt this was a great year for Rcs and everything but I just want some opinions on whether its worth collecting more of everything or waiting to see if prices plummet. I remember Lindros and what his card did and it seems to me we could be looking for a repeat.
Any of your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Well if anyone could truely answer this question, I doubt I'd tell anyone. Remember if you knew what would happen to card prices in the long run how any people would be paying premiums on rookies such as Reggie Bush? What if he gets hurt and never plays in a NFL game, yet people are paying bv or better for his cards. I've seen collectors do the dumbest things. Chasing Crosby like his name was Gretzky. HELLO? The Great One is in the HOF. You want to pay $100 for a rookie card that might never pan out thats fine. The people that pull them don't mind selling them to you. In this day and age, there are no more Michael Jordan rookies to be found that will bring in $10,000. Collect what you want for the love of it. You start doing it by BV quit go home and take up quilt making. Remember the cards that are worth the most are those guys that come from no where and make big ie- Tom Brady and others. See those cards are collected and sometimes over looked or thrown away. So think about that the next time you pull a rookie and get mad because it wasn't a big name rookie! 5 years down the road that card may exceed all the #1 draft picks!

I couldn't have said it much better myself. As Bondsaway said, if you're a true collector, you'll collect for the love of collecting. Yes, it's always nice to see what certain cards bring, but to me, it's not all about pulling a valuable card. It's also fun to search for upcoming, rising stars. Would I love to pull a valuable card? Of course I would, but most of the time, my luck is very slim. If I ever did pull a valuable card, I wouldn't be the type to turn around and sell it on e-bay the next day. I just collect for the love of it. It's all up to you on this choice. you could get lucky and get a card that holds it's value for awhile, but just keep in mind that these newer cards will rise and lower in value.
Thanks, Collector
