I have a gordie howe 59 with tape on it accross the top. Should I try and remove it? It is stuck good. I was wondering if I took a blow dryer and warmed up the tape would I be ruining the card by applying heat? I think its more valued with the tape off.. but I do not know the answer to this?
Anyone got any ideas?

If I were you, I would just leave the tape alone. If there's tape that's stuck good on a card and you attempt to remove it, then you're most likely going to take some gloss off with it. I don't think applying heat will ruin a card unless you use something like a blow torch on it. (LOL!)
Thanks, Collector

Blow dryer won't hurt it...but as far as I know there really isn't a way to remove tape. Your going to do more harm than good trying to remove it. I heard finger nail polish applied takes tape off. I never tried it. My guess would be it would dull the surface of the card along with taking colors off also. I'd leave it alone. Just one of the many things they did to cards in the 50's and 60's.

If theres tape on the card. Guess what thats how its gotta stay. I could tell you ways to remove it at cost of value in card. The only way to get it off is to cut it off. So you don't want to do that! The adhesive is already stained the card so even removing it will just make things worse. What done is done. I wish I didn't use my cards in the spokes of my bike!
